01Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Volkers Studio ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with our free mobile game Yard Brawl (the "Game"). It applies only to the Yard Brawl game — not to the Volkers Studio website or any other app we may offer, which may be covered by their own separate notices. We are committed to being honest about the limited data involved in playing the Game.
Yard Brawl is free to play and contains no real-money purchases. The Game does not require you to create an account or log in, and your progress — such as your level, in-game currency, and items — is stored locally on your device.
We do not directly collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or precise location. However, the Game uses a small number of third-party services (for advertising and analytics) that automatically collect certain technical and usage data, as described below.
By downloading or playing the Game, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
02What data is collected and why
We do not collect personal information ourselves. The data described here is collected automatically by third-party services embedded in the Game, and is used only for the purposes listed:
Advertising
The Game shows ads through Google AdMob. To display and personalize ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (Ad ID), IP address, and app-usage data (for example, ads viewed and interactions with them).
Analytics
We use Analytics for Firebase to understand how the Game is played so we can improve it. This collects anonymous usage data such as device model, operating-system version, in-game events, and approximate region (derived from IP address, not precise location).
Crash reporting
We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix crashes and bugs. When the Game crashes, it collects diagnostic data such as the device model, operating-system version, and the state of the Game at the time of the crash.
We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise GPS location.
03Third-party services
The Game relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy. These providers process the data they collect as independent controllers under their own terms:
Google AdMob (advertising)
Serves the ads shown in the Game and may use your Ad ID, IP address, and app-usage data to deliver and personalize advertising. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Google Firebase — Analytics & Crashlytics
Provides anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting that help us improve the Game. Learn more in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and Google's Privacy Policy.
04How data is used
The limited data collected through these services is used only to:
- Display and, where permitted, personalize the ads that keep the Game free;
- Understand how players use the Game so we can improve gameplay, balance, and features;
- Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the data collected for any purpose beyond those described in this policy.
05Data retention
Your game progress is stored only on your device and is removed when you delete the Game or clear its data. We do not keep a copy on our servers.
Data collected by our third-party providers is retained according to their own retention policies. In general, advertising, analytics, and crash data are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and are then deleted or anonymized. Please refer to the Google and Firebase policies linked above for details.
06Children's privacy
The Game is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
We aim to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and, in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation provisions on children's data (GDPR-K, Article 8).
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13 (or under the applicable minimum age in your country), we will take reasonable steps to delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with data, please contact us at the email below and we will address it.
07Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you. Because we do not maintain accounts or store your data on our servers, most such requests are directed to the third-party providers; we will help where we can — just contact us.
Opting out of personalized ads
You can control ad personalization directly on your device:
- Android: open Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads), then choose “Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization.” You can also reset your advertising ID there at any time.
- Resetting or deleting your advertising ID limits how ads are personalized. You will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you.
To exercise a data request or ask a privacy question, email us at vol.game.dev@gmail.com.
08International users & GDPR
The Game is available internationally. The third-party services we use are operated by Google and may process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. This means your data may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data-protection laws than your own.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. The legal bases we rely on are your consent (for personalized advertising) and our legitimate interests (for analytics and crash reporting to improve the Game). You may withdraw consent at any time through your device ad settings, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add or change a third-party service or to reflect legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be noted within the Game or on our website. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
